E-COMP, a Division of Granite Insurance Brokers is an independent agency that is looking for a Payroll Specialist with experience working in an office setting who possesses strong administrative and computer skills, detail oriented, works well with numbers and has the ability to work well with others in a team setting. This position will work within the E-COMP Operations department and will work collaboratively with fellow team members to achieve department goals.

Summary of Position

The ideal candidate will have third party payroll processing knowledge, is good with numbers, has an ability to build relationships, and works well within a fast-paced environment. This team member will provide a high level of proactive servicing to the company’s customers, payroll partners, carrier partners, and the E-COMP team. This candidate is a highly motivated, professional-minded individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced business environment. Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides support to E-COMP’s channel partners
  • Responsible for ensuring client payroll records are received, calculated and processed
  • Addresses routine processing errors and escalates as necessary
  • Work closely with our development team to solve and create improvements to our billing platform
  • Ensures all service deliverables and requirements are met and communicates with clients and partners, as needed
  • Manages daily files for processing and billing
  • Manages electronic packaging and transmission of payroll files
  • Develops strong business partnerships with internal and external counterparts in Client Services, Technical Services, Client Information Services, and Payroll Partner Services
  • Communicates and provides World Class Service to client base and our channel partners that are located across the country
  • All other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Payroll company, Accounting, or Insurance related work experience a plus
  • Five plus years of experience in an administrative or technical role
  • College graduate preferred
  • Strong computer skills a must
  • Strong experience with Excel required
  • Efficient, detailed and accurate
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Strong organization skills, ability to multi-task and work in a high-paced office culture
  • Must be willing to learn and adapt to new challenges when presented
  • Must be a team player and work well with others
  • Professional and dependable, and works well within a team environment
  • COMPLETE working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook and all Internet browsers
  • Basic understanding of workers’ compensation and audits a plus

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Work in office setting cognizant of social distancing and COVID-19 safety protocols
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks
  • Occasionally stand/walk, write by hand, use of telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 1-10 pounds
