E-COMP Service Assistant

E-COMP, A Division of Granite Insurance Brokers is an independent agency that is looking for a Department Assistant with experience working in an office setting who possesses strong administrative and computer skills, demonstrates initiative and the ability to work well with others in a team setting. This position will assist the E-COMP Service Supervisor and work collaboratively with fellow team members to achieve department goals.

Summary of Position:

Seeking a Department Assistant seeking growth opportunities, hands on training and stable work schedule within a growing company. This position provides direct assistance to the E-COMP Service Supervisor and provides overall project, client and office support that includes a wide variety of duties. This position will train across E-COMP departments.  All candidates must be punctual, dependable, reliable and hard working.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to Department Supervisor to perform client, project and agency support
  • Carrier correspondence including initiating policy change requests and carrier/client follow-ups
  • Inputs and reviews documents and activities in agency management system, as instructed
  • Supports E-COMP Service department and Operations staff in processing “insurance” transactions
  • Reviews, prepares, creates, and/or sends documents, reports, and forms
  • Initiates phone calls and emails to assist with customer service needs
  • Responsible in managing daily tasks along with administrative support
  • Other activities/projects as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • College graduate preferred
  • Insurance agency or company work experience a plus
  • Two years of experience in an administrative role a plus
  • Efficient and accurate
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Strong organization skills, ability to multi-task and work in a high-paced office culture
  • Must be willing to learn and adapt to new challenges when presented
  • Must be a team player and work well with others
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Professional and dependable, and works well within a team environment
  • COMPLETE working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, and all Internet browsers
  • Basic understanding of Workers’ Compensation premium billing and audits is a plus

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Work in office setting cognizant of social distancing and COVID-19 safety protocols
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks
  • Occasionally stand/walk, write by hand, use of telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds
